Construction Plant Traffic Awareness Course:
This training course has been specifically designed for newly started individuals working on Construction sites who are required to work close to plant and machinery in their daily work roles. On successful completion of this training course candidates should be aware of the hazards associated with combustion engine vehicles and will be able to understand the dangers of working around excavators and other plant machinery equipment on the sites they are working on.

Avant 800 series Materials Handler
It reaches all the way to tall mixer feeder wagons and can load a truck from one side to the far edge – no need to drive around the truck when loading. 800 series can also handle stone pallets with ease thanks to the 1,9-ton capacity. Yet it is compact enough to work in places where bigger machines cannot go and can be transported on a conventional car trailer. Training includes Theory Paper, Pre-use check, attachment changing, loading, unloading and accessing load weights, awkward loads and levelling the machine for stability.

Rough Terrain Telescopic Handler
Used extensively on Construction sites, these Material handling equipment can pick loads up off the floor and dependant on what model can deposit a stack of bricks upto 16 metres away either on the scaffold or across foundations to minimise damage to structures. Training includes Theory Paper, Pre-use check, attachment changing, loading, unloading and accessing load weights, awkward loads and leveling the machine for stability.

Mini Digger
Used for jobs where space is an issue, some of these can fit through a doorway or entry for those jobs in the back garden where access is an issue. Be aware that adequate training should still be undertaken to make sure you comply with Health & Safety Regulations. Training will include Theory Paper, Pre-use check, bucket changing on Manual, Semi & Fully Automatic hitch systems trench digging and back filling, stock pilling and vehicle loading/unloading, including safe egress too and from the place of work.

Tracked Excavator
For the bigger jobs where access is not as much of an issue. We train anyone up to a 14 ton machine. Training includes theory paper, Pre-use check, bucket changing on Manual, Semi & Fully Automatic hitch systems trench digging and back filling, stock pilling and vehicle loading/unloading including safe egress to and from the place of work.

JCB 2CX
For the bigger jobs where access is not as much of an issue. We train anyone up to a 4 ton machine. Training includes theory paper, Pre-use check, bucket changing on Manual, Semi & Fully Automatic hitch systems trench digging and back filling, stock pilling and vehicle loading/unloading including safe egress to and from the place of work.

MEWP Cherry Picker
Whether you operate, demonstrate or maintain a Cherry Picker, we offer a MEWP (Mobile Elevating Work Platform) training course to suit your needs. All are available at Miller Plant training centre or can even be arranged at your premises as long as the appropriate venue and machinery are available.
We have a modern, well equipped plant training centre on-site. This bright and comfortable facility includes a large screen projector for easy viewing of course content, ample seating as well as white board and flip chart resources.

MEWP Scissorlift
Scissor lifts may be perfect for the self-employed contractor because the mechanism is easy to manoeuvre and operates at the touch of a button but there are still a variety of safety rules and regulations that must be observed. The courses usually last only a day or two covering all aspects of powered access use including scissor lifts with theory and practice so it won’t take up too much of your work time. At the end of the training you will receive a photo card which is valid for five years listing all the machines that you have specifically been trained to use.

Articulated Dumper Truck
Those working in the construction sector and needing to operate articulated dump trucks as part of their job role should attend this ITSSAR accredited course. Training teaches delegates about the safe operation of the trucks so they can work effectively and avoid accidents. This will ensure that all staff are performing to the legally required standards. Our training is delivered in-house and we offer courses at both novice and experienced level with refreshers also available.

Twin Drum Ride on Roller
A typical novice course would include both theoretical and practical training such as, pre start and running checks on machine, setting the roller for site travel, travelling over differing types of terrain, manoeuvring, compacting with different materials and edges, and transported loading and unloading procedures. At the end of the training you will receive a photo card which is valid for five years listing all the machines that you have specifically been trained to use.

Skid Steer Loader
Used for jobs where space is an issue, these machines are for those jobs where access is an issue. Be aware that adequate training should still be undertaken to make sure you comply with Health & Safety Regulations. Training will include Theory Paper, Pre-use check, bucket changing on Manual, Semi & Fully Automatic hitch systems trench digging and back filling, stock pilling and vehicle loading/unloading, including safe egress to and from the place of work.
